Our Story

As a child I was always a dog lover and loved to craft.  When little girls wanted dolls, I wanted Rose Art kits so I could make something. I had every craft project toy-in-a-box you could imagine. I also always begged my mom and dad for a dog. Dad was on board, but mom was a definite NO, exclaiming how she'd end up being the one to take care of it.  (She was probably right!) Someone must have overheard our constant battles in my dad's store because one day when dad went to open the store for the day, there behind the back door, was our first dog Trumpie who was abandoned in a box with a blanket. As soon as mom saw that cute puppy face, she  melted and gave the okay to make her ours.

In my grown-up life, after my husband and I bought a house, within months there was Mason and Oakley (named after the NY Knicks in 1994!) They were the best brothers and loved the younger days of constant parties and people in the house because that meant treats! After them came Bailey and Bruno, our next set of littermates that didn't go as well as the first. Having a moderate case of littermate syndrome, we hired a team of dog trainers to help us manage. And that...changed my life. It opened up my world to a whole new group of friends, dog moms, dog trainers, dog titles, dog sports and dog competitions.

So, it made me think, why not focus my crafts to include my favorite species of the four-legged kind! I started making things for my own crew, and for all our dog friends. Then I expanded into cats and things for the humans that are all pet themed, started doing some local craft fairs, and Personalize Your Pets was born!
